Philadelphia Cream Cheese is a versatile addition to rolls, pancakes, and various snacks. Most importantly, it can be easily prepared at home. It tastes even better than store-bought.
One of the culinary blogs (zhuravlina_cooking) published a recipe for Philadelphia cream cheese made from sour cream and yogurt on Instagram.
According to the recipe, you don't need to heat or cook anything; the entire preparation process takes only 5 minutes. The main thing is to let the future cheese brew so that the excess liquid drains off and the finished product can be consumed in 12 hours.
Ingredients:
- sour cream 20% – 400 g
- Greek yogurt 8% – 240 ml
- salt – 1 tsp.
- lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Mix sour cream, yogurt, salt, lemon juice. Stir and leave for 1 minute.
2. Meanwhile, prepare the container. Place a sieve in a deep bowl and put 3-4 layers of cheesecloth inside.
3. Pour the entire mass onto the cheesecloth and gather all the sides inward. Put a plate on top and place the weight on it. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours. During this time, all the whey should drain off and the cheese will be ready to eat.
