Fried potatoes are an integral part of Christmas dinner. The potatoes should be well fried on the outside and have a golden crust, while the inside should remain airy.

The recipe for this particular potato was shared on the Mirror website by world-renowned chef and journalist Jamie Oliver.

The main secret of the dish is to use three types of fat. Butter makes the dish rich and sweet, turkey fat adds depth to the flavor, and olive oil gives the potatoes an incredible aroma.

Ingredients.

  • Maris Piper or King Edward potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Turkey fat
  • Rosemary
  • Garlic

Method of preparation

1.Peel the potatoes and cook them whole for 15 minutes

2. Drain and cover the potatoes with a lid. This way, the residual moisture will be steamed out. This is an integral part of this recipe

3. Put the turkey fat, butter, and olive oil in a skillet and put it on the fire

4. Once the oils are combined and begin to shimmer, add the garlic and rosemary

5. Turn off the heat and add the potatoes, stirring so that they are completely coated with the oils. After that, you can put the potatoes in the refrigerator and continue cooking the next day. This will make the potatoes even more flavorful. However, you can continue cooking right away.

6. Put the potatoes on a baking sheet and place in a preheated 180 degree oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown. Optionally, add carrots and parsnips

7. 40 minutes after the start of baking, remove the baking sheet and mash the potatoes a little. This will give the dish a fluffy and crunchy feel.
