Mackerel is a very tasty, budget-friendly, and quite versatile fish that can complement both everyday and festive meals. Most often, mackerel is baked in the oven or fried. But the easiest and best option is to simply marinate the fish. You just need to combine the spices well and choose the right cooking method, and you can eat the fish in a day.

Ingredients:
- mackerel – 1 pc.
- salt – 0.5 tbsp
- sugar – 1 tsp without a slide
- bay leaves – 1 pc
- onion – 1 pc
- vinegar – 1 tbsp
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.
- garlic – 1-2 cloves
- ground black pepper
- spices for salting fish (allspice and coriander can be used)
Method of preparation:
1. Clean, wash, and dry the mackerel with a paper towel.
2. Cut into random pieces.
3. Mix salt, sugar, vinegar, oil, spices.
4. Dip each piece of fish in the resulting marinade.
5. Also cut the onion into half rings, and chop the garlic.
6. Put the fish in a container as follows: a layer of mackerel, a layer of onions, garlic, and bay leaves.
7. Pour the rest of the marinade over the fish.
8. Put the mackerel in the refrigerator to marinate for one day. It is advisable to stir the fish several times during the day.
