Traditional homemade sausage is made from minced meat. But the dish can even be made from potatoes by simply replacing the filling. It will be much more budget-friendly and delicious.

  • natural sausage casing (intestine) - 1-1.5
  • potatoes - 1 kg
  • lard - 100-150 g
  • salt - 1 tbsp
  • spices (dry garlic - 1 tsp, spices for potatoes 1 tsp)

1. Peel the potatoes, grind them in a blender or meat grinder (you can grate them on a fine grater, as for pancakes).

2. Drain for 5 minutes on a fine sieve to remove excess liquid. Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry to make bacon grease, pour into the twisted potatoes.

3. Season with salt and pepper and add spices. If the mass is still liquid, add a spoonful of semolina. Rinse the cleaned intestine well.

4. Put the sausage grinder on the grinder, grease it with oil and gently pull the casing.

5. Put the minced potatoes on top, and use your other hand to take the sausage, gently feeding the intestines. Do not stuff the sausage too tightly (70 percent) so that it does not crack, because it will expand when heated.

6. You can stuff the sausages without a meat grinder, you will still need a cone and a long stick of the appropriate diameter to stuff, then cut the intestines into smaller pieces. Tie the edges of the sausage in a regular knot.

7. Pour boiling water over the sausage for 5 minutes, drain, and pat dry with a paper towel. Put out the sausage, make punctures along its length with a needle or toothpick. Put it in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes, then turn it over and put it in for another 30 minutes. That's it, the sausage is ready.
