How to make cottage cheese at home: the easiest recipe

Cottage cheese is a very healthy product that you should eat more often. It can be used to make a delicious breakfast, or dessert, wrapped in pita bread, or eaten on its own with jam, jam, or fruit.
Food blogger Valeriia with the nickname yummy.lera shared a recipe for homemade cottage cheese, which can be made from just two ingredients – milk and yogurt on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- milk 2.5-3.2% – 1.5 liters
- natural yogurt – 1.5 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and put it on medium heat. Stirring, heat it to a temperature of 85 degrees. Then turn off the heat, cover, and leave for 10 minutes.
2. After 10 minutes have passed, cool the milk to a temperature of 38-40 degrees while stirring. Add the yogurt and stir. Cover with a lid, put a warm blanket on top, and leave in a warm place for 8 hours.
3. After the allotted time has passed, put the pot with milk on medium heat and wait until the whey begins to separate. A lump of cottage cheese will form, which should be cut into squares and brought to a temperature of 40 degrees. Immediately mix the mass and heat to a temperature of 65 degrees.
4. At this stage, prepare a sieve and cover it with cheesecloth in 4-5 layers. Pour the milk mass into it. Tie two knots at the top and hang it on a hook. If you want the curd to be pasty, leave it in this state for 2 hours; for dry and crumbly curd, it takes 5-6 hours.
