Eggs are one of those foods that can quickly spoil without electricity and refrigeration. However, there are several simple ways to keep them fresh for as long as possible.
FoodOboz has gathered information and will share three simple ways to keep eggs fresh without a refrigerator.
Salt solution
To use this method, pour water into a saucepan and add salt in the ratio of 1 tbsp of salt per 500 ml of water. Then put the eggs in the liquid and put the pot on the stove. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Thus, the pot with the eggs should be stored in a cool place, and it is best to put some weight on the lid to prevent air from entering.
Paper
For this method, you need to grease the eggs with lard, vegetable oil, paraffin, or petroleum jelly. After that, wrap each egg in paper, put it in a basket or box, and store it in a cool place.
Sugar syrup
Pour sugar into a saucepan and add water in a 1:2 ratio. Put it on the stove and bring to a boil. Dip each egg into the resulting solution for 5 minutes, and then wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel. Once the eggs are dry, a sugar film will form on them. After that, it is better to put them in a basket or box with sawdust, bran, grain, or sand.
