Mackerel is a versatile, budget-friendly fish that is best suited for baking. It can be baked with a delicious marinade or sauce, vegetables such as onions, carrots, or tomatoes, or simply with spices.
Food blogger Snizhana Dudok (snizhana.dudok) shared a recipe for baked mackerel in marinade on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- mackerel – 2 pcs.
- mustard – 2 tsp.
- soy sauce – 3 tbsp.
- salt – 0.5 tsp.
- smoked paprika – 0.5 tsp.
- lemon juice – 2 tbsp.
- coriander + pepper mixture – 0.5 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Remove the tail and head from the mackerel. Make an incision along the ridge and remove it. Wash and dry the cleaned fish.
2. Then make cuts along the length of the mackerel, not reaching the belly. Turn each cut upwards.
3. Combine the ingredients for the marinade. Lubricate the mackerel with it.
4. Bake the fish at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Ingredients:
- mackerel – 1 pc.
- salt – 1 tsp.
- seasoning for fish – 1 tsp.
- soy sauce – 2 tbsp.
- oil – 2 tbsp.
- lemon juice – 1/2 tsp.
- onion – 1 pc.
- tomato – 1 pc.
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the fish into portions. Mix with all the spices.
2. Cut onion and tomato into rings.
3. Put the ingredients in a mold as follows: a piece of fish, onion, and tomato rings.
4. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
