Homemade gingerbread cookies with icing: a budget and quick dessert

Homemade gingerbread cookies is a simple, quick and budget-friendly pastry that many people have known since childhood. They are flavorful, soft and melt in your mouth. They will perfectly complement a cup of coffee, tea or a glass of milk. The most important thing in cooking is to prepare the dough properly so that it does not turn out too stiff.

One of the culinary blogs (recepti_dariko) published a recipe for chocolate gingerbread cookies with icing on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • milk - 250 ml
  • egg - 1 pc
  • sugar - 150 g
  • flour - 400-450 g
  • cocoa - 2 tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp.
  • ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp.
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • oil - 50 ml

For the glaze:

  • sugar - 125 g
  • water - 50 ml

Method of preparation:

1. Mix milk, egg, sugar, cocoa and spices. Stir with a whisk and add salt and baking powder. Mix again.

2. Gradually add flour. Make sure not to add too much as the dough should be a little sticky.

3. Add oil and knead homogeneous dough.

4. Divide the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment.

5. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

6. To prepare the icing, mix sugar and water, put on fire and cook for 3 minutes from the moment of boiling.

7. Pour the icing into a plate and roll the finished gingerbread cookies in it.
