To really surprise your guests with a gourmet dish for the holidays, cook a pork knuckle. This meat is best suited for baking. But before putting it in the oven, boil it in beer.
The idea of cooking a flavorful baked pork knuckle in beer is published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alina with the nickname alin_withkitchen. The top will have a delicious golden crust, and the meat inside will be very soft and juicy.
Ingredients:
- pork knuckle - 2 kg
Ingredients for the marinade:
- dark beer - 2 liters
- water
- onion, carrot, garlic, peppercorns, bay leaf
- salt - 2 tbsp.
Ingredients for the sauce:
- mustard - 1 tbsp.
- honey - 1.5 tbsp
- garlic - 5 cloves
- soy sauce - 2.5 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the knuckle and put it in a saucepan.
2. Add onion, carrot, salt, garlic, bay leaf, and peppercorns.
3. Pour all the beer and add water so that the liquid covers all the meat.
4. Cook for 3 hours over low heat.
5. Prepare the sauce: mix chopped garlic, mustard, and soy sauce.
6. Put the cooked knuckle.
7. Stuff it with garlic and grease it well with the sauce.
8. Place in the baking sleeve.
9. Tie it up and put it in a hot oven at 200 degrees.
10. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
11. 20 minutes before the end of baking, cut the sleeve and brush it several times with the sauce in which it was baked. When the shank is browned, take it out and serve.
