Yevhen Rybchynskyi "punished" Povaliy for betraying Ukraine and covered her hit with the soloist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Video
Ukrainian poet and politician Yevhen Rybchynskyi covered the song "Don't Ask Me Why", which he wrote, and previously performed by pro-Putin artist Taisiia Povaliy, who calls the war in Ukraine "liberation". He released an updated version of the hit song together with the soloist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Khrystyna Okhytva to "punish" the traitor.
The public figure published the modified composition on his official YouTube page. In his social media, the poet noted that he does not want his songs to be performed by unworthy individuals.
Yevhen Rybchynskyi noted that Povaliy used to be a favorite of the Ukrainian audience, but now her name is associated only with betrayal of the Motherland and "slavish adulation of the hated 'Russian world'". The politician aims to revive her works and do everything possible to ensure that they are not associated with the Putinist.
"Once upon a time, my songs were sung by the whole country. However, the traitor has long since changed her repertoire, and the nationally beloved songs have remained pleasant memories. However, the songs are not to blame for the fact that they are sometimes sung by completely unworthy individuals. Many of today's traitors used to wear embroidered shirts, but an embroidered shirt is not to blame for other people's betrayals," the public figure wrote.
The poet created the lyrics to the popular hit in 2000 for his ex-girlfriend Taisiya Povaliy. But now, when the traitor publicly calls the genocide of Ukrainians and a full-scale war "salvation, " he decided to completely update the composition.
"This hit was born in 2000, but today it has acquired a completely new, more rocky, brighter sound. I sang it with a wonderful singer, the soloist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Khrystyna Okhytva," the politician noted.
Earlier, Yevhen Rybchynskyi had already covered songs from the traitor's repertoire. The public figure has updated the tracks "Thistle" and "This Rain Will Last".
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that Yevhen Rybchynskyi had sharply addressed Taisiia Povaliy, who "sold her soul to Putin," and called her a "living corpse."
