The photo of Kate Middleton with her children, released by Kensington Palace on March 10, sparked a discussion online because of the use of Photoshop. Famous photo agencies were forced to remove it from their websites because of doubts about its authenticity. An investigation was even conducted and the image's metadata was made public.

In particular, details were noticed in the photo that looked unnatural. Subsequently, the Princess of Wales admitted that she had "experimented with editing" the photo and wanted it to look its best, Metro reports. By the way, this is the first photo of Kate Middleton since January, as Prince William's wife is currently recovering from abdominal surgery.

In the photo, you can see the unfortunate photoshop near the hair of Kate and her daughter Charlotte, as well as near the hands of George and Louis. Further analysis of the image by Sky News provided more information about when the photo was edited. It turned out that the photo was taken a few hours after the Princess of Wales was seen by the press: she was leaving Windsor Castle with her husband.

An analysis of the photo's metadata revealed that the photo was saved in Adobe Photoshop twice on an Apple Mac, but it is unclear whether it was edited on the same device. The first save took place at 9:54 p.m. on March 8, and the second at 9:39 a.m. on March 9.

The image was taken outside Adelaide Cottage, the family's home in Windsor, with a Canon 5D mark IV camera with a Canon 50mm lens. Earlier it was reported that William took the photo, which is why he is not in the picture. Kensington Palace refused to publish the original image.

According to insiders, Kate Middleton was quite upset about the photo scandal. "Like many amateur photographers, I sometimes experiment with editing. I'd like to apologize for the confusion the family photo has caused," she wrote on Twitter.
