Playboy's "curse": 5 models who drove millions of men crazy but died a gruesome death. Photo

Playboy models who did not live to be 50

No one is immune to death - not even the beauties smiling on the pages of the most explicit Playboy magazine. It seems as if their lives are carefree and full of vivid emotions, but this is far from the case.

Playboy models have died in car accidents, drug overdoses, suicides, illnesses and murders. Obozrevatel will tell you about 5 models of the American erotic magazine for men who tragically died at a young age.

Jane Mansfield

Jane Mansfield was one of the brightest blondes in Hollywood and Broadway. At one time, she was one of the first models of an erotic magazine, along with Marilyn Monroe and Bette Page. Jane was repeatedly naked on the pages of the magazine. Mansfield was known for "accidentally" flashing her breasts or underwear in front of photographers. She was married three times and gave birth to five children. The model's life was tragically cut short in a car accident when the actress was just 34 years old.

Anna Nicole Smith

When Anna Nicole Smith became a Playboy model in 1992, she took pride of place in the exclusive female community. However, her early death at the age of 39 made her a member of a different club - models of the erotic publication who did not live to be 50.

The model was married to Howard Marshall, a wealthy oil tycoon who was four times her age and confined to a wheelchair. Shortly after the marriage, her husband died at the age of 89.

Anna herself was twice treated for depression. And at the age of 39, she died, leaving behind a five-month-old daughter. Two illegal drugs were found in her hotel room during a search.

Dorothy Stretten

The most high-profile death of a Playboy model before Anna Nicole Smith was the tragic death of 20-year-old Dorothy Stretten. A few months after she became Playboy's 1980 girl of the year, she was murdered by her jealous husband. Playboy's founder, Hugh Hefner, said that he could never overcome the pain of losing Stretten. To honour her memory, a special issue of the magazine was published and a film about her life was made.

Stephanie Adams

Stephanie became Miss November 1992 in Playboy magazine. She was not just a beautiful girl, but also had a bachelor's degree from a prestigious university and was actively involved in business. In 2003, Adams announced that she was a lesbian, becoming the first Playboy model to come out.

In 2009, Stephanie got married and left the business, and in 2011, she gave birth to her son Vincent. In 2018, on 18 May, she committed suicide by jumping out of a window. But the worst part is that Adams forced her seven-year-old son to do the same.

The reason was a conflict with her ex-husband: Stephanie had been suing for custody of the child for several years. The woman could not stand the emotional stress: the last straw was her ex-husband's refusal to let Vincent go on holiday with his mother. Adams's death was ruled a suicide, and her son's was murder.

Star Stove

Ellen Louise "Star" Stove had a wonderful life. She became a model for an erotic magazine in February 1977, attended glamorous parties with Elton John and, of course, Hugh Hefner. Stove dated the famous musician Gene Simmons, then married Peter Maligo, but soon divorced him.

However, Star later turned to prostitution and became addicted to drugs. In March 1997, when Star was 41 years old, her body was found half-naked in the bushes, strangled, according to police, by a serial killer who specialised in women working in the sex industry.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote about the fate of the first Miss Ukraine and where she is now. The first national beauty contest was held in Ukraine on 2 and 3 February 1991. In fact, it was the Miss Ukraine-1991 competition, but the name was adapted to the Ukrainian beauty version. The winner was Olga Ovcharenko from Kyiv.
