Jared Leto could not stand the outrage of Ukrainians: what the singer said about his dreams of concerts in Russia and Kyiv
The American actor and musician, frontman of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto, has "paid the price" for his statement about his desire to come to Russia and Ukraine with a concert after the war. Concerned fans of the band reacted to the singer's words and bombarded him with ironic comments on social media.
Because of this, Leto had to close the comments under his last Instagram post. But that didn't stop users – other photos are full of opinions from fans who don't share the star's sympathy for the terrorist country.
The celebrity, who called the war in Ukraine a "problem" during a recent concert in Belgrade, Serbia, has faced a wave of hate. Now people are writing en masse that they will no longer come to Thirty Seconds to Mars' performances. Ukrainians, in turn, expressed their unwillingness to see the musician in their homeland. "Never come to Ukraine if you think we only have 'problems' and want to visit Moscow. You are not welcome here," one user wrote. "So you call the war in Ukraine a problem? Do you consider genocide and terrorism against civilians to be a problem?" another commenter was outraged.
Others, on the contrary, urged Leto to look at the real "problems" in Ukraine – to visit Mariupol, Vovchansk and see with his own eyes the atrocities of the Russian occupiers: "And after that, will you be able to look Russians in the eye, speak on their behalf and want to come to Russia?"
Ukrainian Twitter (now X) did not remain silent either:
- "I have one question: why is the guy with the affectionate and warm surname Leto so frozen?"
- "Jared Leto? Or maybe Leto? Isn't it about time?!"
- "Everyone is so surprised that Jared Leto is over, when the guy literally has a cult following, and after 2014 he was on tour in Russia. We already knew".
- "People have literally just realized that Jared Leto is a Russophile? And they didn't notice that: in the first or second year of the war, he was photographed wearing a Russian hat and earflaps; during this time, he created his video with Russians, whom he mentioned in the description; not Leto, but Leto."
- "Jared Leto called. He is very apologetic. He said "Glory to Ukraine".
- "The scandalous and frivolous words of Jared Leto at the concert in Belgrade are not an accident, in the coming days they are making a whole tour of the places of compact settlement of the so-called cocaine fugitives (tourists from Russia who arrived after 2022)."
As a reminder, at the festival in Belgrade, Serbia, Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto addressed the Russians in the audience and said he wanted to come to St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kyiv after calling the war a "problem." As part of the tour, the band will also give concerts in Baku (Azerbaijan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Astana (Kazakhstan) and Istanbul (Turkey).
