Ukraine inflicted a strategic defeat on Russia in the Black Sea

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has inflicted a strategic defeat on the aggressor country Russia in the Black Sea. This forced the Russian Black Sea Fleet to relocate its main units to the eastern part of the water area.

It also allowed Ukraine to protect its sea trade routes. This was reported by the UK military intelligence on the social network X.

At the beginning of the war, the Russian Black Sea Fleet maintained freedom of maneuver throughout the Black Sea. In particular, the enemy was free to move its ships in the northwestern part of the sea.

The situation changed after Ukraine succeeded in using asymmetric alternatives to the lack of a traditional fleet. Ukrainian forces began to strike the enemy fleet with guided missiles and surface drones.

At this stage, such actions forced the Russian Black Sea Fleet units to relocate their main combat areas to the eastern part of the Black Sea. At the same time, the occupiers' defensive position at sea is currently not working as intended.

British intelligence emphasized that at the strategic level, Ukraine's approach deprived Russia of the ability to attack sea trade routes. This, in turn, led to an increase in exports, bringing them to pre-war levels.

As a reminder, during Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the Defense Forces put about a third of the Russian Black Sea Fleet out of action. Twenty-four ships and one submarine were sunk or severely damaged.

Earlier it was reported that among the latest losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is its "pride": the Ivanovets missile boat. It was destroyed in Crimea on February 1 by special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Russia fired the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Viktor Sokolov. Most likely, the reason was Ukraine's success in destroying Russian warships in the Black Sea.
