Russia wants to turn the Sea of Azov into an "internal" sea: what is the biggest danger about

Moscow plans to change Azov's official status

The aggressor country, Russia, wants to make the Sea of Azov its "inland sea". The goal of the occupiers is to neutralize the effect of international law in this region.

This was stated by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Yurii Malashko, during a briefing on December 8. According to him, Moscow plans to change the official status of the Azov Sea.

"The Russians are preparing a project to change the status of the Sea of Azov. The occupiers plan to define the Sea of Azov as an inland sea of Russia at the legislative level. The change in the status of the reservoir, as planned by the occupiers, should neutralize the effect of international law on this territory," the head of the Region Military Administration explained.
