Kupiansk direction is a priority for occupants, they are preparing for assaults, - head of the regional military administration

The Kupyansk direction is now a priority for the Russian army, as the enemy is planning to distract the Ukrainian Defense Forces from other areas of the front where they are having success. The occupants are conducting reconnaissance to find out the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and are shelling this area with guided aerial bombs.

This was stated by the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, on Wednesday, September 27. The official was quoted by his press service (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

The head of the regional military administration noted that the troops of the aggressor country are not yet conducting active assault operations in the Kupiansk direction, but sabotage and reconnaissance groups are moving forward in search of our positions.

The occupants are shelling bridge crossings, attacking Kupyansk and this area in general. According to Syniehubov, this indicates that the enemy is preparing for future assault operations.

"They do this in waves - first they accumulate a sufficient number of troops, then they conduct assault operations. Then the defenders of Ukraine suffer quite serious damage, the enemy rotates again and prepares for assaults again," said Syniehubov.

Earlier, the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ilya Yevlash, said that as of September 27, the situation in the Liman-Kupyansk direction remains difficult but controlled. Russian troops are forming 12 assault companies there - about two thousand soldiers.

The enemy is forming its defense and building fortifications. Yevlash emphasized that such a concentration of aggressor troops does not mean that all of them are involved in combat. There are also many support units.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Russian army may be preparing for new offensives in the Kupyansk sector. To do this, the enemy is trying to find weaknesses in our defense.
