"They themselves suffer": world champion from Russia said the IOC is delusional and without Russia the sport "will start to fall apart"
World indoor triple jump champion Yolanda Chen urged Russian athletes not to refuse to participate in the 2024 Games on their own initiative. She called the move a gift to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which on July 26 did not invite Russia to compete in Paris.
Chen said this in a commentary for the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The representative of the aggressor country also called IOC President Thomas Bach crazy and added that Russia's alleged ineligibility for the Olympics would lead to the collapse of world sport.
"I think Thomas Bach is delusional. The USA, I think, is more loyal to us now than Europe. If they didn't want to let us in, they would have solved everything long ago. They're dragging it out until the last minute. But we should not refuse the Olympic Games ourselves. Let's not give them a gift. If we are not allowed to participate in the Games, this beautiful history of the Olympic movement will start to fall apart. We are the ones who suffer from it. By the way, many people in Europe and America support the Russians," Chen said.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, echoing Kremlin propaganda narratives, advocated the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Olympics, calling it a step toward peace.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russian fans unleashed a flood of anger at Olympic champion, traitor to Ukraine and wife of Dmitry Peskov Tatyana Navka after her words about the participation of the Russian Federation in the Olympic Games 2024 without a flag and anthem.
