Three-time world short track champion Elise Christie has become a real OnlyFans star after retiring from sports. 10 years after her dramatic exit from the 2014 Olympics, the 33-year-old Briton gave a big interview to The Sun, where she talked about her life outside of sports.

Christie was ready to commit suicide after receiving death threats because of her failure in the final of the Olympics. During the 500-meter race, she fell and went off the course.

A similar scenario repeated itself four years later at the PyeongChang 2018 Games, after which Elise ended her career. Years of depression and alcoholism followed, until she finally found happiness by meeting her future husband Connor Thomson, becoming a mother, and joining OnlyFans, where she earns more than she ever did in her entire sports career.

"I worked hard all my life and was left penniless. I dedicated my life to sports and was left with nothing. My salary was less than the minimum wage if you count the hours I worked. When I won the World Championships in 2017, my fee was £5,000," said Christie.

Eliza started out as a figure skater, but at the age of 12 she switched to speed skating, where she excelled. When she was 15, she moved to Nottingham to train full-time at the National Ice Center and dreamed of becoming the best in the world.

The athlete began to win medals at European competitions and had high hopes for the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

But her ambitions were severely tested when she was disqualified in three consecutive races and left without a single award.

During one of these races, she knocked out South Korean athlete Park Seung-hee, provoking a wave of insults on social media.

When she failed to correct her mistakes four years later, Eliza quit the sport. Upon returning to England, she began to slip down the social ladder, and after the death of a close friend in 2021, she began to drink heavily.

Because she was having a hard time paying her bills and mortgage, her house had to be sold. Sleeping in her car and working three jobs to pay the bills, she didn't know how to survive.

In 2022, she hit rock bottom when she was arrested while binge drinking. The next morning, she walked 3 km in the rain to the nearest hospital to ask for help.

Eliza, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, got back on her feet after meeting Connor, a farmer-hunter she describes as the love of her life, at a rehab center last year.

"I have a lot of regrets. But otherwise I wouldn't have what I have now. I almost committed suicide. I had no goals for the future. I wasn't interested in having a boyfriend or moving forward. Then I met Connor and started to believe that everything happens for a reason. Happiness is not about medals," the former athlete recalls.

Until that moment, her whole life was connected to figure skating, and she did not realize how much this sport had caused her suffering.

"Figure skating has been treating my illness for a long time. Despite the fact that I did not harm myself until I was 27, skating was a form of self-harm. Even when I became a world champion and crossed the finish line celebrating, I was already wondering what would happen next. My mom took a picture of that moment and said I was happy, but I wasn't. It was a fake smile," said Christy.

When times were particularly tough, Eliza had to find a new way to pay the bills after retiring from figure skating.

In a desperate situation, she came to OnlyFans, where subscribers paid to see the athlete's intimate side.

At first, she hated the fact that publishing risky content was the only way to make ends meet. But now it's become a full-fledged business that she can run from the comfort of her bedroom, and she makes much more money from the racy site than she ever did on the ice.

"This is my body, I worked on this body, it was given to me for a reason. So I see it this way: I earn money from what I worked for. You control what you do and how far you want to go. It took me some time to gain confidence in what I was doing and to talk openly about it. It was scary at first. Now I'm in a place where no one cares about me," the girl admitted.

Christy finds it a bit difficult to work with only social media.

"I've found that stepping away from social media is good for me. So I don't read comments or think about what other people are saying. And now I earn more from OnlyFans than I did when I was working three jobs," the skater added.

Eliza hopes that OnlyFans will provide for her family for life.

"I always tell Connor that I don't think I'm attractive, and I wonder why people pay," Christy concluded.
