Two figure skaters from the South Korean national team have been temporarily disqualified for sexual harassment, Naver reports. According to local media reports, the incident occurred from May 15 to 28, when the South Korean team was holding a training camp in Varese, Italy.

During this period, the athletes, identified in the case file as "A" and "B," were intoxicated several times and were detained by their superiors, which resulted in disciplinary proceedings being opened upon their return to Korea.

The investigation revealed that A and B not only drank alcohol in the dormitory without permission, but also sexually harassed skater C.

The investigation found that while intoxicated, A ordered a representative of the South Korean junior national team to come to the women's dormitory. Then "A" began sexual activity with "C". "B", who was also present at the scene, took indecent photographs of "A" and sent them to "C".

Following the investigation, the disciplinary committee of the South Korean Figure Skating Federation decided to suspend "A" for 3 years and "B" for 1 year. "C" was also reprimanded for visiting the skaters' dormitories, and one of the training camp curators will be suspended for 3 months.

"A" and "B" may appeal the Committee's decision within 7 days after the disciplinary action is announced. If the three-year disqualification of "A" is confirmed, the athlete will not be able to participate in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
