RHF president says "Russia is on the right track": his compatriots are quick to call him "a delusional freak"
Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) President Vladislav Tretiak has received a huge amount of unflattering comments from his countrymen after he spoke about the importance of hosting the competition in Russia. In June, Kazan will host the BRICS Games. In September, the World Friendship Games will be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg.
The 71-year-old three-time Olympic champion said that "the government, the state, the president, and the sports ministry all understand that today we need to hold our own competitions."
"Invite foreign athletes who want to come. It is very important because we will see new stars through competitions. They gain tremendous experience, especially young athletes. I think we're on the right track," Match TV quoted the head of the Russian Hockey Federation as saying.
