"Let's spend the weekend together": details of a secret conversation between Usyk and Fury
Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and British Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) had a phone conversation before signing a contract for the fight for the title of absolute world champion. The Gypsy King, as the boxer from Manchester is called, was excited about the opportunity to fight our compatriot and invited him to visit.
Tyson's manager Spencer Brown told about this in an interview with Boxing King Media YouTube channel, talkSport website reports. The representative of the British champion shared the details of the negotiations between the parties and also emphasized that Fury really wants a fight against Usyk.
"Tyson was over the moon. We agreed on the financial side and other issues that people just don't see. Tyson and Usyk really talked to each other, Tyson invited him after the fight to go to Morecambe with his kids to spend the weekend. Tyson said, 'Thank you very much, I look forward to seeing you in the ring. And after it's over, I'd like you to come to Morecambe, where I live. Bring your kids, we'll spend the weekend together," Brown revealed the details of the conversation.
Earlier, he named the expected date of the historic Usyk-Fury fight. This should take into account the fact that the British fighter is facing a fight against mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou, which is scheduled for October 28. Tyson himself compared the Ukrainian and his closest rival.
In his turn, Usyk commented on the fight against Fury in an original way, calling his opponent an avatar and questioning one of the terms of the deal. In addition, Oleksandr's promoter Krasiuk named a condition under which the fight with Fury could be canceled. And the Ukrainian's ex-trainer Serhiy Vatamaniuk called for taking the Gypsy King seriously.
Promoter Bob Arum named a prerequisite for the fight. He also added that his ward would receive a 9-figure sum for the fight with the Ukrainian. Recently, the legendary Mike Tyson voiced his forecast for the fight of the year.
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has put forward its demand for the Usyk-Fury fight. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) responded to the organization of the fight between Oleksandr and Tyson by naming a contender for the winner's titles. And former world champion Andy Ruiz named the main problem of the British rival of the Ukrainian.
