"Disgusting lie": Ukrainians attacked in Bosnia after Euro 2024 playoff draw
The Ukrainian media allegedly spread false information about the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team after it became a rival of the Blue and Yellows in the 2024 European Championship qualifying tournament. In particular, it became known that players in the Balkan team pay money for the right to play in the squad.
The sportske.ba portal accused the Ukrainian media of "dirty propaganda" to put pressure on the Bosnian team. Miralem Demirovic, a journalist for the outlet, called the reports of problems in the national team stupid and expressed confidence that Serhii Riebrov's team would not pay attention to the press.
"The Ukrainians have already launched a media campaign that denigrates the level of our national team. They are spreading disgusting lies, all with the aim of creating a rift between the leaders of our association, the coaching staff and the players. They claim that the players have to pay 20,000 euros each to get into the squad. Honestly, I don't remember hearing about such stupidity. But their coach Serhii Rebrov is a great specialist, he knows the players of our national team and has worked with some of them personally. He does not get euphoric," the article says.
As a reminder, the semifinal game of the Euro 2024 qualifiers will take place on March 21. Earlier, the head coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team Savo Milosevic admitted that he was not very satisfied with the results of the draw for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the President of the European Football Union (UEFA) Alexander Čeferin wished the Bosnians to reach the championship before the draw of the Euro 2024 playoffs.
