Tarasova, who is a member of the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame, said this in an interview with the R-Sport propaganda news agency. She expressed confidence that the RFSF Ethics Commission, which will consider Plyushchenko's case, will not punish the former figure skater in the end.

"Why should he be punished? In the country where you were born and raised, where you won medals, where you have been winning for years, you cannot say what you think. What is this? What kind of news is this? I don't care about this ethics commission. What is this, that you can't say anything? I don't know what kind of commission it is. Let them look at themselves and their whole life. I'm sure there will be no decision. Will they ban him from working? No. The rest of us don't care. This is alien and disgusting to me," Tarasova said.

Earlier, Tarasova threw a tantrum over Canadian Tessa Virtue's demand to prevent Russian athletes from participating in the 2024 Olympics. She said that Canadians "wish death to their friends with whom they competed".
