Will shine as new: how to clean oven racks
Baked-on grease is one of the most difficult types of dirt to remove. That is why it is so difficult to clean oven racks. Grease collects on them during cooking and manages to adhere to the metal under the influence of high temperature.

Soaking in the bath
Burnt grease can be washed off the grates if it is soaked well in water. To do this, put an old towel on the bottom of the bathtub (it will collect most of the dirt), pour enough hot water to cover the grill, and add 1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid or 3/4 cup of laundry detergent. Leave the item to soak overnight.
You can also pretreat the grill with baking soda and vinegar. In this case, wet the grate, sprinkle it generously with baking soda, and then pour vinegar over it to start foaming. When the reaction is complete, pour water over the object. In this case, you don't need to add soap to the water.
In the morning, wipe the remaining grate with a sponge or brush to remove any remaining dirt and rinse well. When it is dry, you can put it back in the oven.
Cleaning with ammonia in a garbage bag
This is an effective method, but it is better to do it outside or on an open balcony because ammonia has a specific odor. Put the grill in a garbage bag of the appropriate size, pour 0.5 liters of ammonia into it, seal the bag, and leave it overnight. In the morning, make sure you are in a well-ventilated area because when you open the bag, the ammonia fumes will escape. Remove the grate and rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose or in the shower. You will not need to scrub it. Dispose of the bag containing the remaining ammonia.
The method with dishwashing liquid and dryer sheets
Not everyone knows about this unconventional way to use dryer sheets, but it can be very effective. Put a rack in the bathtub or sink. The main thing is that it fits completely. Fill the item with hot water, add a few drops of dishwashing detergent and a couple of napkins. You don't need to buy new napkins as you can reuse them. Stir the water until it becomes foamy. After a few hours, wipe the grill with the wipes any dirt should come off easily. After that, all you need to do is rinse the item thoroughly.
Cleaning with aluminum foil and dishwasher tablets
Aluminum foil is not only useful for cooking but it also makes cleaning much easier. You can wrap the oven rack with it, put it in a container of hot water and add a dishwasher tablet. The detergent will react with the foil. In two hours, the water can be drained, the foil can be removed and all the grease can be easily cleaned off the grill.
