To sharpen a grater, you will need a knife with a short blade and a ceramic cup. You will need to turn the cup upside down and use the rough surface on its edges. It will work like a grindstone in this case.
To begin with, run a knife along the inside of each blade hole in the working surface of the grater: this will provide a liner for the cutters and align them. Then rub all the blades with the outer side against the rough edge of the bottom of the cup. This will sharpen the cutting edge. Be careful not to bend the blades or damage them. It is better to make more light movements.
Lastly, you need to wash the sharpener properly as during the sharpening process, it becomes covered with small particles of metal and ceramic. It is better to rinse it under running water and then wipe the item dry. Immediately after that, the device will be ready for use again.
