Which cats have the most difficult temperament: breeds with a "surprise"

Persian and Siamese cats, as well as Maine Coons, highly value their privacy

People unfamiliar with cat behavior may misinterpret the independent nature of these wonderful creatures as a bad temperament. In reality, you can get along with any cat if you respect its boundaries enough. However, some breeds are famous for their greater tendency to assert their independence.

OBOZREVATEL has compiled a list of such breeds and will tell you who is best treated with the utmost respect to gain a wonderful loyal friend.

Bengal Cat

This breed is derived from the wild Bengal (Far Eastern) cat, so it has a corresponding temperament. Similar to miniature leopards, Bengals do not like to be denied something and have a developed hunting instinct. If you try to stop such an animal from jumping on the wardrobe or running around at night, you might get a good thrashing. Bengals are also very "talkative". So, when you get such a handsome cat, you need to weigh your options carefully.

Abyssinian Cat

A miniature creature with huge almond-shaped eyes looks so much like a tame puma for a reason. Abyssinians are famous for their independent temperament. If such a cat wants to look down on you while you do something, do not try to convince her to sit in your arms. In the end, she will come to you when she is ready, because this breed is still very contactable.

British Shorthair Cat

Despite its phlegmatic character and charming cheeks, the British Shorthair cat does not like familiarity and violation of its boundaries. She will gladly keep company with her people, but only on her terms. If they are violated, the British will be offended and simply disappear. If you pester her systematically, you can wake up a real predator even in such a plush creature.

Siamese Cat

What distinguishes Siamese cats from other skittish cats is their unwillingness to tolerate discomfort. The response to interference in the Siamese's affairs will be immediate and quite tangible. Therefore, breed lovers know that it is better to stop trying after the first warning. Blue-eyed beauties know better what kind of interaction they want and when.

Chartreux

Representatives of this French breed do not like excessive attention. Combined with developed hunting instincts and innate physical strength, we get an animal that is very good at defending its boundaries. But in general, these cats get along well with all family members who agree to communicate on their terms.

Maine Coon

The biggest threat is the size of this breed, officially recognized as the largest among domestic cats. The Maine Coon can give a good kick. Although these cats are famous for their calm and balanced character, even their patience has its limits. Therefore, if the animal shows unwillingness to communicate, it is better to take this into account.

Persian Cat

This breed is probably the most phlegmatic of all and the most shy. Therefore, it will refuse to communicate with strangers and may not be in the mood to communicate with its owners at all. The reaction to a violation of a Persian cat's privacy can be unexpectedly powerful.
