Sphynxes, Rexes, and Orientals are a good choice for those who do not want to deal with shedding at home

In a house with a cat, fur serves as home decor, a good luck charm, and even a seasoning for all dishes. It's almost impossible to fight against fluffy gifts. The cat leaves them everywhere again and again. For people prone to allergies, this can be a problem. However, there are breeds of cats that do not shed and are suitable even for those who are terrified of the prospect of dealing with shedding hair.

OBOZREVATEL tells you about these breeds. And about the peculiarities of caring for them, as well as the character of such cats.

Sphynxes

There are several breeds grouped into the sphynx group. The common feature for all of them is the complete absence of hair. The first ones were the Canadian ones. This breed, also known as the moon cat, was bred half a century ago, consolidating a natural mutation. Due to the lack of hair, sphynxes need extra warmth and therefore love physical contact with people. They are extremely affectionate and playful. And despite their often very serious appearance, they are actually kind and friendly. The disadvantage of the breed group is that the delicate skin of sphynxes needs to be carefully cared for, and the animals should not be allowed to freeze.

Rexes

Another small group of cats that do not shed is the Rex (Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, etc.). Their peculiarity is a coat without awn hair, only with a short undercoat that curls into cute curls. This undercoat practically does not shed. Rexes are playful and jumpy cats, very affectionate to people and other pets. Devon Rexes are even called elf cats because of their huge eyes and ears.

Oriental cats

These cosmic creatures with long noses and giant ears have short, velvety-to-the-touch fur that hardly ever sheds. Therefore, you can pet them endlessly. Moreover, they love physical contact. This is an active breed that likes to be close to people all the time, to move and play a lot. Orientals are also extremely talkative and are happy to answer when addressed.
