What you should not do when washing dishes: four main mistakes are named

Some mistakes when washing dishes can cause serious illnesses

A user of the Chinese portal WeChat listed four dangerous mistakes when washing dishes. According to him, they provoke the growth of bacteria and further contaminate kitchen utensils.

The expert claims that a dirty sponge is home to 19 types of pathogens, including the deadly E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans.

According to a WeChat user, up to 2.2 billion bacteria can easily accumulate on a new sponge in one week, which can cause various diseases. Therefore, it needs to be changed regularly.

The sponge should be changed at least once every two weeks

The expert also recommends using several sponges separately for each surface. It is important to dry them, ventilate them, regularly pour boiling water over them, and change them at least once every two weeks.

Another rule is not to stack dirty plates on top of each other. This way, the bottom of the dishes gets dirty, which increases the time it takes to wash them.

First of all, the WeChat user advises to wash less dirty dishes and clean raw meat containers separately.

Clean the dishes well

It is important to drain and wipe clean kitchen utensils dry before putting them in the cupboard. The expert argues that bacteria will grow in the remaining water, and if water stagnates in metal utensils, it will become rusty.

Finally, the WeChat user recommends disinfecting cutlery. It is enough to boil them for ten minutes.
