What you should never say to a man: 8 phrases that hurt and destroy relationships

It is not for nothing that they say that words are the most powerful weapon a person has. Properly chosen phrases can inspire, motivate, and even heal, but otherwise they can humiliate self-esteem, hurt, and destroy the addressee's relationship with the addressee. This is especially true in relationships between men and women. Sometimes partners don't even realize how certain words, spoken unintentionally, hurt their loved one.

OBOZREVATEL decided to talk about the phrases that women should not say to their beloved. The list was compiled by Ukrainian psychologist Iryna Deniezhna.

1. "I''ll do it on my own."

This phrase can turn a man into a couch potato. He stops offering his help because he is convinced that his chosen one does not need it and is able to cope on her own. Sometimes you need to allow yourself to delegate authority.

2. "(Name) did something better than you"

Constantly admiring other men and comparing yourself to them can destroy your relationship. If you regularly point out your lover's weaknesses and emphasize that someone else has no problems with it, you risk only strengthening the manifestations of qualities you don't like.

3. "You can't do it".

Phrases from this genre have ruined the talent and potential of many people who did not receive support and doubted their own abilities.

4. "Why did you do it/buy it?"

Men are very often interested in a woman's reaction to a situation, her support and emotion, which are converted into an incentive to move on. Such phrases can discourage him from doing anything.

5. "You don't communicate with me enough"

Most men are by nature specific. They can listen and summarize or, if necessary, give advice. But it will most likely not be possible to talk to him like a girlfriend, and therefore it makes no sense to blame him for the lack of communication.

6. "You never do..."

Psychologists recommend using this phrase instead: "I would be grateful if you did..." But the expression "never" can only lead to disappointment and quarrels.

7. "I told you so"

As the saying goes, you don't wave your fists after a fight. These words can discourage a man from taking responsibility.

8. "I will leave you"

Neither a man nor a woman would like to hear such "threats" from a loved one. You can say this phrase only in the present tense, when you have really decided to end the relationship. But if you use it during a quarrel to "intimidate", then be prepared for it to stick in your partner's head.
