The athlete had to be urgently hospitalised

Peter Prevc, the 2022 Olympic champion and two-time medallist in ski jumping at the 2014 Winter Olympics, suffered a terrible fall during a training jump at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The 30-year-old Slovenian had problems with his ski binding, which prevented him from landing properly.

Immediately after taking off from the ski jump, Peter lost his balance and fell, hitting his head and back hard. The athlete was unable to get up on his own and was urgently hospitalised.

During the evacuation, the two-time world champion was conscious and even waved from the stretcher to the stands who were worried about him.

"Peter was taken to the hospital, where all the necessary tests will be carried out. He is conscious. He is speaking normally," the Slovenian Ski Association said in a statement.

According to unverified information, such a fall can lead to at least a break in the ligaments.
