How to grow cucumbers in a barrel

Owners put a lot of effort into growing vegetables in a greenhouse in winter, but it can take less time if you use a barrel. This method will allow you to get a good and plentiful harvest. The main thing is to provide favorable conditions for plant growth.

OBOZ.UA has found effective tips that will help you cope with this. Cucumbers are a heat-loving vegetable that requires high humidity, optimal air temperature, and sunlight.

You will need a wooden barrel that must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. You can use a solution of potassium permanganate for this purpose. It is a powerful antiseptic that can destroy bacteria and germs that contribute to the development of diseases in plants.

Put on rubber gloves, spray the barrel with the solution, leave it for several hours, and then wipe everything thoroughly with a damp cloth.

After the barrel is dry, place a small layer of dry twigs on the bottom to improve drainage. Next, fill the container with soil, leaving 15 centimeters of free space on top. You can plant seedlings or sow seeds. Water the plant regularly: every two to three days.

Place the barrel in a greenhouse or cover it with foil or protective glass.

The main advantage of this method of growing is the convenience of harvesting: cucumbers are clearly visible and the fruits are clean.
