How to feed an orchid

Orchids are one of the most popular flowers that are often chosen as gifts or used by housewives to decorate their homes. This beautiful plant is fastidious in its care, accustomed to the humid, tropical climate in the jungle. Therefore, you need to provide regular feeding and watering for the flower to develop and bloom.

OBOZ.UA has collected effective tips that will help you cope with this. It can take several years for an orchid to start flowering, so if there are no flowers yet, the plant is dormant.

As the orchid grows, it needs more moisture and fertilizer. This will help it gain strength and recover to bloom again.

Fertilizers

Choosing the right fertilizer is important for the development of the plant. It is better to choose phosphorus fertilizers, they are suitable for all varieties of orchids. You don't have to buy them in a store, you can make the mixture yourself.

To do this, you will need rice water. It will promote the growth of healthy leaves, strengthen the roots of the plant, and fill the orchid with nutrients.

Soak one tablespoon of rice in 100 ml of water and leave it for a day. One tablespoon of liquid is enough for one orchid. Water the plant for 15 consecutive days.

This simple feeding will provide the delicate plant with abundant and bright flowering.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA published detailed instructions that will help you to transplant an orchid correctly.
