Dishwashing liquid, baking soda and peroxide will bring back the whiteness of the shirt collar

A white shirt is one of the most effective elements of a basic wardrobe. It can be used to create many stylish looks. But many of us are afraid to keep this item in our closet. The reason for this is the collar, which can turn yellow even after one wearing due to constant contact with the skin. The same problem is related to cuffs.

Machine washing is often not able to cope with such stains, and hand washing with friction can damage the fabric. However, there is a way to deal with such stains. OBOZREVATEL tells you about it in detail.

It's a homemade paste that combines the effects of different detergents. To make it, you will need:

  • dishwashing liquid - 1 teaspoon
  • pharmacy hydrogen peroxide - 3 teaspoons
  • baking soda - 2 tablespoons

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to get a homogeneous product in the form of a liquid paste. To remove stains on the collar and cuffs of a white shirt, apply this paste to the stained areas and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. During this time, it should gently dissolve the dirt and whiten the fabric.

Dishwashing liquid in the paste will destroy the fat in the fibers, soda will become an effective stain remover, and peroxide will work as a mild bleach. After this combined treatment, the shirt will only need to be washed in the usual way.
