How to remove limescale from faucets: the cheapest method

How to clean faucets from limescale

Limescale appears on faucets due to hard water that contains a lot of magnesium and calcium salts. This forms a thin layer of white that penetrates the material and can damage the equipment.

If you do not pay attention to the problem in time, you will need to replace the taps, which will significantly affect your wallet. However, OBOZ.UA has found an effective and inexpensive way to deal with this.

White vinegar

Due to its chemical properties, vinegar can dissolve dirt and help get rid of unpleasant odors. Generously moisten a clean cloth or cotton wool with the solution and wrap it well around the faucet. Leave it for 15-20 minutes to allow the vinegar to soften the limescale.

Then wipe everything with a damp cloth to get rid of any residual solution and dirt. If the limescale remains, repeat the procedure.

You can also add a little laundry detergent or a few drops of liquid soap to the vinegar to remove more stubborn dirt. Mix everything up and apply the cloth again to the necessary surfaces for 15-20 minutes.

Lemon juice will also help to cope with this problem. Mix the juice with water in a one-to-one ratio. Soak a cotton pad and attach it to the faucet, and after a few minutes, rinse it off and wipe it with a cloth.
