How to prepare soil for seedlings

The owners are already preparing to sow seedlings so that the plants have time to germinate for the next season. This is usually done in containers or pots on the windowsill, creating the right conditions for crop development.

Properly selected soil is the basis for good growth. Therefore, OBOZ.UA has found useful tips that will help to fertilize the soil.

The mixture for seedlings should be light, loose, airy and nutritious. Most owners buy balanced soil in the store to provide the plant with everything it needs. If you don't plan to plant a lot of seedlings, you can make a nutrient mixture yourself.

First, you need to prepare the soil for planting. You can use regular soil from your garden or vegetable garden, but be sure to disinfect it or warm it up to get rid of pests and germs.

Turn on the oven and set the temperature to 70 to 90 degrees Celsius. Cover the container with parchment paper and spread the soil evenly with a layer of 3-5 centimeters.

Spray with water and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Then wait until the soil has cooled down and you can use it for your own needs.

Add sand to the soil to help the seedlings grow well. One glass per five liters of soil is enough. Mix everything thoroughly.

Add coconut substrate. It is loose, airy and has bactericidal properties. Thanks to the coconut fiber, the root system develops quickly. For five liters of soil, 200 grams of fertilizer is enough.

NPK is a mineral fertilizer that will also have a good effect on the growth and development of seedlings. Two teaspoons of fertilizer will be enough for five liters of soil.
