A rice warmer will help you warm your hands quickly

Winter continues, with many more weeks of cold weather ahead, and it's important to know how to keep yourself warm, even if the heating in your apartment doesn't work very well. Experts say that one of the most effective methods is to use personal heating pads. In particular, hand warmers.

Of course, you can buy chemical and electric heating pads. But a fairly effective option can be assembled by yourself from scrap materials. OBOZ.UA tells about such a life hack.

Among the main requirements for a hand warmer are compact size and not too high a temperature so as not to burn the skin. At the same time, it should retain heat well enough.

The latter is well handled by loose materials that heat up quite easily and then gradually release their thermal energy. You can easily find cereal from such materials at home. Experts advise choosing rice. Among other properties, it also has a rounded shape, which is comfortable when you have to hold something in your hands – nothing pricks or cuts into your skin.

So, to make a rice warmer, take a clean sock. Make sure it's intact and that the contents won't spill out. Fill it with rice cereal, tie it at the top, and put it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. The hot water bottle is ready. You can carry it in your hands, put it under your neck when you sit in front of the TV or computer, and use it to warm your bed.

However, make sure that the rice does not start to smoke during heating – in this case, it will signal that it is overheated, and you will have to cool the cereal additionally. However, the rice warmer is suitable for use several times.
