How to load a dishwasher correctly: three mistakes everyone makes
People who have bought a dishwasher for the first time are often so excited about their purchase that they don't really care about how they load it. The appliance makes life easier, and that's a joy. However, even people who have experience with dishwashers make mistakes when loading them.
Meanwhile, experts from the American household magazine Good Housekeeping wrote on the publication's TikTok account what we do wrong when using the appliance. And they told us how to correct these mistakes.
Mistake one: layering dishes
If you place the dishes in the tray in such a way that they seem to be layered on top of each other, overlapping each other, this will greatly impair the quality of the wash. The water will not reach all the items or will wash them partially. Therefore, when loading the dishwasher, make sure that the bowls are not inserted into each other and that there is no overlap.
Mistake two: glasses on the tines
It is also wrong to place glasses on the tines of the machine's tray. At best, this will leave stains on them, and at worst, they will even break. All glassware should rest on the tines, not hang on them.
Mistake number three: incorrect placement of appliances
If you just randomly put the cutlery in the dishwasher, it doesn't clean it well, and the water doesn't wash it completely. Forks should be placed in a special basket with the tines facing up, knives should be placed with the blades down, and spoons should be placed "jack of all trades" with one handle facing in opposite directions.
