How to remove unpleasant odors in the microwave

A microwave is an indispensable appliance in the kitchen. However, if you ignore its regular cleaning, you may face unpleasant consequences. Dirt, grease, and food residue can stick to the walls. Over time, an unpleasant odor begins to emanate from the microwave, which spoils the quality of the food.

In fact, cleaning a microwave is not such a difficult and troublesome task. OBOZ.UA has collected the most effective life hacks for disinfecting the appliance.

Life hack 1

The easiest way to get rid of an unpleasant odor is to use lemon. You just need to cut the lemon into slices, place them in a deep plate and cover with water. Put the container with lemons and water in the microwave and start heating. It is better to repeat the procedure several times, each time taking a new plate and slicing one lemon. After the solution has cooled, take a clean cloth or sponge and wipe the inside of the microwave with lemon water.

Vinegar is also a very powerful disinfectant. Pour water into a container and dilute it with vinegar in equal proportions. Dampen a cloth in the solution and wipe the surface of the microwave. Finally, wipe the inner walls with a clean, damp sponge.

Life hack 3

It may seem like a very obvious life hack, but this tip is often neglected. After each use, the microwave should be aired for at least 20 minutes. Then wipe the interior surfaces with a damp cloth. To avoid odors, it is better to use special lids or containers for heating.
