Over time, a dark coating appears on the sole of the iron, which leaves marks on clothes. There can be many reasons for this - from hard water to synthetic fabrics.
If you use the wrong temperature setting, the synthetic fabric will melt and stick to the sole of the appliance. The iron should be cleaned regularly, as limescale can damage clothes by leaving marks on them. OBOZREVATEL figured out what three products will help remove iron marks on things.
How lemon juice will help
Citric acid is an effective neutralizer of iron stains. Experts advise diluting lemon juice and water in a 1:1 ratio. One tablespoon of water and juice is usually enough to remove a small stain.
After treating the stain with the paste, wait 15-20 minutes. After that, wash the clothes in a machine.
Onion life hack
Few people know that white onions can clean clothes from stains left on them after using an iron. The only downside is the pungent odor, which can be eliminated by washing the item in a machine with detergent and fabric softener.
Cut a large onion in half, rub it on the fabric, and leave it on the stain for several hours.
Will laundry detergent help?
Before washing, you can apply a mixture of water and laundry detergent to your clothes. Mix these two ingredients in a container until they become paste-like. Then apply the product to the stain, wait 10-15 minutes, and wash it in the machine or by hand. The main thing is that it should not be hot.
