How to fertilize indoor flowers in the fall

Temperature changes, reduced sunlight and heat affect the development of indoor plants. Flowers need special care during the cold season, so timely fertilization will ensure good flowering and growth of the flowerpot.

OBOZ.UA has found an effective method that will help you cope with this. You don't need to spend money on various complex fertilizers, just one ingredient is enough.

Banana peel

This is a budget-friendly and useful fertilizer that has all the necessary nutrients for the plant. Banana peels will fill indoor flowers with calcium, magnesium, potassium, and plenty of nitrogen.

To do this, you need to prepare a three-liter jar or other container. Put the peel of several bananas and a teaspoon of sugar in it. Pour water over it and cover it with a lid. Let the mixture brew for 2-4 days.

Then dilute the solution with water in a 1:1 ratio and water the flowers with it, which can be done weekly.

In winter, you need to regularly wipe the flowerpots from dust. This is because even a small layer of dirt prevents the leaves from receiving the optimal amount of light necessary for photosynthesis, thus disrupting the normal life cycle of the plant.

The best tool for dusting is a microfiber cloth. Place your open palm under the leaf you want to clean and support it in order not to break the plant or harm it. Then gently run the cloth over the top of the leaf plate.
