How to clean the kitchen in 15 minutes: what to clean and what you can skip
If there's one room in the house that can turn into a complete mess in a matter of minutes, it's the kitchen. All it takes is a cup of tea, and the sink is full of dishes, the countertop is stained, and the table is covered with crumbs and sugar grains. What can we say about a more serious meal?
Nevertheless, cleaning experts say that you can spend no more than 15 minutes cleaning the kitchen. OBOZ.UA tells you about the right algorithm of actions that will help you with this.
For quick cleaning, it is important to eliminate the mess directly - wash the dirty and put everything in its place. You don't need to clean the hood or wipe the cabinet fronts every time. Just like you can skip mopping the floor if it looks clean.
Start with the dishes
Load the dishwasher. While it takes care of your dishes, you can do the rest. If you don't have one, wash the dishes by hand. Not having cups, bowls, and cutlery everywhere will make it easier to clean any surface.
Wipe down all surfaces
Now that the dishes are all collected, the kitchen is much cleaner. Now it's time to tackle the dirty surfaces. If there are sticky stains and colored marks on the countertops, for example, from tea or vegetable juice, first wash them with soapy water, then rinse off the solution and disinfect the surfaces. To do this, you can use a ready-made antiseptic, or you can mix it yourself by pouring up to half of the medical alcohol into a spray bottle and adding 25 ml of white vinegar and 25 drops of your favorite essential oil. Keep in mind that this mixture should not be used on natural stone surfaces. Spray the disinfectant on the washed surfaces, leave it on for 5 minutes and polish everything with a microfiber cloth.
Take care of the sink
Limescale from hard water spoils the look of the kitchen just as much as crumbs or stains. To quickly get rid of it, mix white vinegar and dishwashing liquid in equal proportions, clean the faucet and sink with this product, leave it on for 5 minutes, and then rinse.
Take out the trash
Keep the garbage can out of sight, as the smell from the bin always reveals its presence. So empty it on time.
Wipe down the appliances
If you've stained the stove while cooking and left marks on the refrigerator, wipe them off with warm water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. Finally, polish the surfaces with a dry microfiber cloth.
Take care of the floor
Mopping is a very good cleaning technique, but you should start cleaning the kitchen with a broom or vacuum cleaner. After all, a lot of crumbs are created during cooking and eating. A combination of dry cleaning and washing will provide the best results.
Decorate your kitchen
Finally, take a look at the condition of your kitchen textiles. If the cloths and towels look stale, gather them up and throw them in the washing machine and replace them with new ones. In addition, you can light a scented candle or put an aroma lamp to fill the room with pleasant aromas.
