You can clean the equipment with handy tools

Spring is the perfect time to get outdoors with your family or friends. The barbecue and kebab season will soon be upon us. After preparing delicious food, the only thing that can ruin your mood is the need to clean the skewers and grill from the remnants of frozen fat and dirt.

For the laziest, there's a way to do it using fire - you just need to keep the equipment on the fire until the food remains turns to charcoal. After cooling, the grill and skewers are thoroughly wiped with a brush. Read the OBOZREVATEL article on how to quickly and effectively wash off dirt with the help of improvised means.

Baking soda

Soda is known for its abrasive properties and the ability to effortlessly wash away old dirt. Cleaning experts advise mixing baking soda and vinegar in a 1:2 ratio and rubbing dirty surfaces with the solution. Pour the rest of the solution into a large bag where you need to place the skewers and grill. Leave the bag tightly tied for several hours, or better yet, overnight. You will get perfectly clean and shiny equipment.

Vinegar

Mix vinegar with water in equal proportions and pour the resulting solution into a spray bottle. It should be applied evenly to dirty surfaces and remove the remaining dirt with a metal sponge. Then use regular detergent and rinse the equipment with clean water.

Sand

Most often, ordinary sand is used to clean barbecue grills and skewers in nature. There are several options for use. You can rub the equipment with sand, remove food and grease residues, and then rinse it in clean water with detergent. Or you can wash the skewers with water and stick them in hot sand for several hours, weather permitting, of course. The sand will clean the surface, and then all you need to do is rinse.

Citric acid

Citric acid will get rid of grease and soot. It should be diluted with water, dipped in the solution of dirty equipment and boiled in a metal container for 10-15 minutes.

Salt

You will need:

  • a metal bucket
  • salt
  • water

Pour a packet of salt into the bucket (1 kg of salt per 10 liters of water), dip the skewers into the solution, and boil it for an hour. Then you can easily remove the remaining dirt with a sponge.

You can simply apply salt to the sponge and wipe the equipment with it.

Potatoes

Potatoes are usually taken outdoors, but few people know that they can quickly clean skewers and grills. Starch will help get rid of dirt. First, dip the skewers and grill in hot water for 30 minutes, and then, without waiting for the equipment to cool, rub it with half a potato. Then dip it in a bucket of clean, cool water and boil for 15 minutes.

Carbonated drinks

Carbonated drinks contain orthophosphoric acid, which effectively removes dirt. It is recommended to pour a carbonated drink into a large bag and place it inside the grill with skewers. The equipment should be completely covered with liquid. After 2-3 hours, wipe the devices with a sponge and rinse them with clean water.
