Water and detergent may not always suffice for this type of contamination. Burnt dough adheres to surfaces due to high temperatures, making silicone molds appear less aesthetically pleasing. While discarding the molds and brushes is an option, experienced cooks prefer saving money and cleaning the dirt with proven methods.
Firstly, a mixture of water and baking soda should be utilized. Heat empty silicone molds in the oven for 10 minutes at a temperature not exceeding 180 °C. Subsequently, rinse them with water and meticulously apply the baking soda mixture, preferably using a toothbrush. After allowing the mixture to dry, rinse the molds under a stream of warm water.
