How to clean a wooden door: just two ingredients will help
When we try to keep our homes clean, we look for simple and quick tricks that will make the job easier and put off the next cleaning at least a little longer. And for those who have wooden doors at home, there is an interesting recipe for a product that will quickly restore their good look and maintain them over time.
As OBOZ.UA found out, the product is based on two common kitchen products: vinegar and olive oil. Their mixture provides all the necessary properties for wood care.
Vinegar is known for its disinfectant properties. It also acts as a powerful dirt remover even for such difficult surfaces as natural wood.
In turn, olive oil helps to create a protective layer on the wooden surface. It moisturizes it and makes it shine. All this makes the wood more durable. By the way, this ingredient can be replaced with cheaper sunflower oil.
To use this home trick, you need to take equal proportions of white vinegar and oil. Mix the two ingredients thoroughly until they form a homogeneous liquid. Apply it to the door leaf with a soft cloth. Use a small amount to avoid staining the wood: it only needs a slight treatment.
Gently wipe the surface of the door with the cloth, paying special attention to the dirtiest areas. Leave the mixture for a few minutes for it to penetrate the wood and remove all traces of dirt. After that, take another clean, dry cloth and wipe the door to remove any residue. Finally, polish the wood to give it a beautiful shine.
However, experts still advise testing the product in an inconspicuous area before full use. Each type of wood is unique and reacts differently to cleaning products, so to avoid unwanted effects, it is better to test the substance in advance.
