How to make your home smell nice

Freshness in the home is not only an aesthetic component. Unpleasant odors can be caused by pathogenic bacteria that actively multiply in conditions with high humidity.

Fragrance diffusers are not a panacea. Regular ventilation and good cleaning will help to effectively purify the air in your home. The Sun has more information on how to achieve freshness in the rooms.

Nerkesha, a cleaning specialist living in the UK, posted a video online that quickly went viral.

First of all, she advises not only cleaning but also disinfecting the sink drain. Usually, the cause is a blockage: hair, toothpaste or food residue, grease, and dirt clog the drain and cause a lot of problems. You need to pour some baking soda into the drain, add salt and vinegar. Wait 15 minutes and rinse everything off with warm water.

You should also change the cat's litter box regularly. For disinfection after washing, you can treat the litter box with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide.

Do not leave wet laundry in the washing machine for a long time. In addition to causing an unpleasant odor, this will also lead to mold growth, as dark and humid conditions are ideal for the rapid growth of fungal spores.

Kitchen towels and cl oths should bechanged regularly - they can become real breeding grounds for germs.

At least once a month, experts recommend washing the refrigerator. You don't even need to use any powerful chemical solutions. Just put a saucer of baking soda in the fridge. 100-150 g of soda will effectively disinfect and get rid of unpleasant odors.

Do not leave food scraps in the kitchen tr ash for a long time. For example, cut chicken parts quickly begin to deteriorate at room temperature and emit a pungent odor.

Regular ventilation at least three times a day is the key to keeping your home fresh. So don't forget to open the windows.

Do not close the door of the washing machine after use. Again, these are simple preventive measures that will prevent mold from forming.

Bed linens should be changed at least weekly. Dust mites can accumulate on pillowcases and duvet covers, leading to health problems.

The trash should be emptied daily. The accumulation of food debris leads to unpleasant odors.

And the most obvious advice is not to smoke in the room. Tobacco smoke quickly settles on all surfaces - from fabric upholstery to wallpaper, and it is extremely difficult to remove it.
