How to achieve lush flowering of an orchid

Housewives often choose an orchid because of its beauty, exoticism, and beautiful, bright flowers. But the plant is whimsical and requires special care, so you need to put more effort and time to see the lush flowering.

OBOZ.UA has found effective tips to help you cope with this. Regular watering and fertilizing are important factors that affect the growth and development of an orchid.

Watering

Owners should constantly monitor the condition of the plant. It all depends on the variety, temperature in the apartment, and location. Although the orchid loves moisture, excessive watering can have negative consequences, such as yellow leaves and root rot.

The flowerpot needs water most of all in summer when you need to water the plant once a week. In winter, it is enough to water it once every two weeks, and once every 10 days in the fall and spring. Carefully monitor the filling of the pot: the substrate should dry out a little before the next watering.

Moisturizing should be done in the morning or evening as these are the best hours for moisturizing.

Put the pot with the drainage holes in a bowl of water for 20-30 minutes and the orchid will "decide" how much water it needs.

Fertilizing

Lemon juice is a natural fertilizer that will fill the plant with essential substances and trace elements.

Mix a few drops of juice with a liter of settled water at room temperature. Water the orchid once a month. This is enough for new buds to appear and the plant to start blooming.
