Forget about dust for a month: how to clean an apartment to keep it clean for a long time
Dusting your home is a real endless cycle. As soon as you wipe it off, it starts to settle again. And the advertised factory products are not very effective in practice. However, bloggers who specialize in cleaning life hacks claim that you can make a spray that will protect surfaces from dust for a long time.
Caroline McCauley shared a recipe for such a spray on her TikTok page. She gives household tips to almost 3 million readers. (To watch the video, scroll down to the end of the news story)
To prepare the remedy, you need to take:
- Two cups of water;
- A quarter cup of white vinegar;
- One tablespoon of olive oil;
- Three drops of dishwashing liquid;
- A few drops of essential oil.
Mix all the ingredients in a spray bottle. If you don't want the product to leave a vinegar smell, even when masked with essential oil, you can replace this substance with a solution of citric acid - it is diluted in the proportion of 1 teaspoon per glass of water. As for essential oils, Caroline recommends citrus varieties, but you can choose your own. The main thing is that you like the smell.
Shake the liquid in the spray bottle thoroughly to make it as homogeneous as possible. After that, it is applied to a microfiber cloth, which is used to wipe various surfaces - plastic, glass, wood, metal. The product not only effectively removes existing contaminants, it also slows down dust settling on the cleaned surface.
According to Caroline, you can forget about dusty surfaces for up to a month. But the rate of contamination, of course, depends on the specific conditions. But it is really better to clean with this spray at least once a month.
By the way, pet owners have praised the product in the comments. One subscriber, who has three dogs, said that he really began to clean the house less often.
