How to grow hyacinth on a windowsill

Hyacinths are bulbous flowers that have a strong, pleasant smell and a bright appearance. They are often seen in alleys or gardens, but you can also grow them yourself at home in a pot. This will not take much time and effort because hyacinths are unpretentious in care and hardy to different conditions.

OBOZ.UA has collected useful tips that will help you do this. According to popular belief, such a flower will purify the energy of the owners, get rid of bad dreams and strengthen family relationships.

Hyacinth is usually grown outdoors in the warm season, so you need to create the same atmosphere at home. Choose a bright place without drafts in the fall and winter. It is better to remove the hyacinth from the windowsill in the summer.

It's worth noting that the flower can only be kept indoors for 1-2 years. Then it needs to be transplanted outdoors.

It is important to choose the right pot so that it is not too small for the bulb. Be sure to make a drainage layer at the bottom using sand, peat or compost. Next, add fresh, nutritious soil.

The top of the bulb should peek out of the ground a little, so don't bury it completely in the pot. You can sprinkle some sand on top to help prevent rotting.

Water the plant regularly, but make sure that there is no stagnation of water as the bulbs will begin to rot.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA published a list of indoor flowers that will purify the air in the house and absorb all the toxins.
