A decoction that will save house plants: what to add

People who love beets regularly enrich their diet with potassium, magnesium, zinc, calcium, manganese, phosphorus, and fluorine. And you can share all these treasures with your indoor plants. To do this, you need to know how to make organic beetroot fertilizer.

Broth

In winter, we often prepare salads with beets - herring under a fur coat, vinaigrette, zwickli. And few people think that the broth from this root vegetable can be used as a fertilizer.

To make the water in which the beets were cooked suitable for watering plants, you just need to leave it unsalted - you can add salt directly to the dish. Pour the beetroot broth into a convenient container and let it cool to room temperature. Then dilute it with soft, settled water in a 1:1 ratio and pour this solution over your flowerpots. This will enrich the soil with nutrients. It is recommended to repeat watering with beetroot broth no more than once a week.

This fertilizer intensively nourishes the plant. So much so that some even bloom in the middle of winter. But the main thing is to be moderate when watering with this product - excessive fertilization can be even more harmful than its complete absence.

Infusion

But to get fertilizer, beets don't even need to be cooked. You can prepare a water infusion. Wash one medium-sized root vegetable and cut it into large strips. Put it in a convenient container with a lid and cover it with a liter of water. Close it and leave it in a dark place for 3-4 days.

When the liquid is ready, stir it properly and strain it. You will get a fairly concentrated infusion. Water the plants with it no more than once every two weeks. This is a universal fertilizer that is suitable for any plant.
