Mushroom Lawn, a salad for the New Year: how to prepare this spectacular holiday dish

Mushroom Lawn is a very impressive and festive salad that you should definitely prepare for the New Year. The ingredients are simple and affordable, but together they create a real explosion of flavors. The highlight of this dish is the canned mushrooms that are placed on top.

The idea for the Mushroom Lawn New Year's salad was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alex Mil (mil_alexx). It can be made instead of the traditional Olivier and Shuba.

Ingredients:

  • 3 pcs. (400 g) cooked potatoes
  • 2 pcs. (250 g) boiled carrots
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • 250 g of cooked smoked fillet (or your favorite sausage)
  • 100 g of grated cheese
  • a jar of whole pickled mushrooms (0.5 l)
  • 4-5 tbsp of mayonnaise
  • herbs (dill and parsley)

Method of preparation:

1. Boil carrots, potatoes, and eggs.

2. If the mushrooms are salted, the salad does not need salt.

3. It is convenient to use a 16 cm baking dish for laying out. Cover the bottom with cling film.

4. Put a thick layer of mushrooms with the cap down and sprinkle generously with chopped herbs.

5. Then sprinkle with a layer of grated boiled eggs. Tamp each layer well and grease with 1-1.5 tbsp of mayonnaise.

6. Then put the smoked chicken breast, potatoes, grated cheese and carrots. Tamp everything well.

7. Cover with a plate and turn the salad over.

8. Remove the film and the ring. The salad is ready to serve.
